There and Back Again

We have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the last few votes as the race was pretty close right up to the end. In fact, we had no idea where we’d be headed to next until the final vote was cast! At any rate it looks like the next country we’ll be visiting is: The beautiful and tzatzikilicious country of Greece!

In case anyone’s curious here’s a rundown of the votes:

• Greece: 29.40%
• Norway / Sweden: 25.56%
• Japan: 22.79%
• New Zealand: 20.75%
• Costa Rica: 1.50%

Thanks again to everyone who gave us wedding gifts! We are so excited to have another trip ready to be planned out, and it simply wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for all the giftage we received from everyone!

We also want to say that we couldn’t be happier with how the votes turned out. Actually we would have been equally as happy any way they went — we know we’ll make it to all those places one day, but Greece seems like a great place to start!

Our brother Mike has posted his photos from the Dominican, which we think do a great job of capturing the essence of life at the Bambu!

Note that some of these may not be safe for consumption at work — the one of Stu gettin’ down may incite random outbreaks of drancing .

Also of note is there is a slideshows album in there courtesy of Tim’s father Bud who put together some really nice slideshows with music and all! Update: we fixed the slideshows so if you tried them before and couldn’t get them to work, or they were low quality, give them another go!

Welcome to the official travel blog of Tim Burrell and Jess Dutton! Even before getting married in the Dominican Republic we both knew one of our common goals was to spend as much time traveling and getting to know our wonderful planet together as possible — and thus thereandbackagain.org was born!

Our intent is to post updates and photos from our adventures while on the road (whenever possible), and we should have photos up from the trip to the Dominican soon! We’ll also be announcing the results of our wedding gift registry here as soon as all the votes are in!

Again, thanks to everyone for making our wedding so special, and for getting us even more excited for our new lives together. We love and miss you all already, and although this is no substitute for being there with you we wanted to find some way (even a small one) to share our new lives as a married couple with you.
